Giving Back Some Mojo

For the Relay for Life Card Challenge 2 Prizes Click  HERE

Hello Friends,

I have received reports from around the globe that mojo is missing from many of my scrapbook friends!  This is an EMERGENCY and calls for drastic procedures!  If you are missing your mojo, it is time to act now.  OK, I will now give back mojo to anyone who is missing it.  I can only do this once, so please make sure you are prepared to receive it before we start.  Are you ready?  Stand straight and tall in front of your computer.  Now say the following words ~Bow Chicka Bow Wow ~ you must say these magic words three times!

I have placed the magic crown upon my head and I have the magic mojo wand.  These were made by Lisa of Indy Mermaid, she is one of the greatest in our cardmaking/scrapbooking community.  Her mojo is VERY powerful.  http://indymermaid.blogspot.com/

Ok I am ready to throw MOJO at you!

How do you feel?  Can you feel the desire to create suddenly running through you?

If this has worked and your mojo is back.  Please stop by my friend Heather's blog at Fresh Brewed and tell her Chriss America Real said "Bow Chicka Bow Wow" this will insure that you keep your mojo for a very long time!  http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/

A Card For My Sweetheart

For the Relay for Life Challenge 2 Prizes Please Click HERE

Hello My Friends!

Life is so very strange.  I had a sad, mixed up, bad thing happen to me recently...I won't go into the details but it was something that really hurt my feelings and made me feel so bad about not only myself but some people that I dearly love.  Just when I was at my lowest point, my husband stepped in and reminded me "who I am" some of you are probably too young to remember the James Taylor Song  "Something In The Way She Moves" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoevtZiVR4k but if you change it to "Something In The Way He Moves" it describes my husband.  We have been married for nearly 35 years, together for 38 years and he is my rock.  When I get lost among the "craziness" of this world, he comes and finds me and pulls me back into his loving arms until I can find myself again.  Thank you Matt, I love you more than words can say.

So, I was making Matt a thank you card ~ it says "You Are My Sunshine" because he sings that song to me all the time.  I received an e-mail from one of my friends.  She knows that I have been waiting and waiting for the Cricut Embossing Tool to come out and she sent me to this link.  http://bugjuiced.blogspot.com/2012/04/new-card-and-challenge-with-giveaway.html she is having a card challenge to make a blue & yellow card...I WAS MAKING A BLUE AND YELLOW CARD! Wow!  How cool is that?  Here is my card for my sweetheart!

I sure do hope you have someone in your life that comes and pulls you away from the drama and reminds you of "who you are" Have a great weekend!

A Winner/A Layout

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I am so late in posting today...I just feel sad.  Every once in awhile it hits me that my parents are both gone, my husbands parents are both gone and I suddenly feel so all alone in the world.  I miss having some other place that I can go to that still feels like home.  You know how you go to your parents house and even if they have moved into a smaller place, or different place from where you grew up, they are still surrounded by their things and it feels like "home".  I miss that.  I now see when my grown children come to visit us how important this little house is to them.  It is their childhood, good and bad.  I will keep for them as long as I can.

Speaking of keeping things.  My mom-in-law gave me an album of pictures of my husband before she passed away.  It is in terrible shape.  The pages are brown and falling apart, the pictures are starting to fade, so with the help of my very best cyber friends from Let's Scrap http://letsscrap.ning.com/ I have started re-making the album and I am going to give it to my husband for either his birthday (May 28th) or Father's Day, depending on when I finish.  Here is a layout of his newborn baby picture...isn't he adorable?

I used the sketch 3-8-10 from Let's Scrap http://letsscrap.ning.com/ the paper is by Graphic 45 and it is called "Little Darlings" as most of you know, their paper is so busy! I had to cut out a piece of it that "flowed" and put it along the bottom of the picture. The yellow paper is a page that I cut at a scrapbook store. They had the new Lucky 8 punches they were giving demo's I couldn't afford to buy one but I got to keep the paper! The wooden carriage and diaper pin are from KiaserCraft, I sprayed them with Tattered Angels in blue, gold and then pearl to give them an antique look. I really enjoyed making this page. I can't wait for Matt to see what I have done...oh I forgot to tell you about the picture! All I had was a very small wallet sized print of this picture. I used my Epson Artisan 810 to restore it and blow it up to 4x7.

And now the winner of the flower candy from yesterday....Vanessa B!  Vanessa, please send me an e-mail at america57@comcast.net with your address and I will send the flowers right out to you!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Who Wants Candy?

Good Morning Ladies,

Last October, I was going around visiting other blogs and I came across Shannon's Blog My Scrappy Creations and discovered her beautiful hand made flowers that she sells on Etsy.  We started chatting and she said she would send me some of her flowers so that I could make a card and also give away some of her flowers on my blog.  She asked me what kind of flowers I would like and since it was fall, I said mums.  The flowers never arrived.  We couldn't understand it because she sent out flowers to other people and they arrived...sigh...I have very weird mail delivery.  I received an invitation to my nieces baby shower two months after her baby was born.  So about a week 1/2 ago, the flowers suddenly showed up!  Where have they been?  Who knows!  So here is my card.  When I saw the google eyes I had to do this card.  This is a little poem my mom used to recite. I don't know who wrote it, if you know, please let me know.

Here are the flowers you could win.

Here is what you must do to win these flowers:

1 As always become a follower of my blog
2. Leave me a comment on my blog
3 Go to Shannon's blog and tell her "Chriss at http://www.chrissandlou.blogspot.com/" sent me
4. Shannon's blog address is - http://www.shannonleffew.blogspot.com/ while you are there, take a look at the beautiful products she sells on Etsy.  Wow!

Sympathy Card

Good Morning Ladies,

Sadly I had to make a sympathy card for my husband's best friend.  His mother passed away yesterday.  When I make a sympathy card, I like to keep it very simple.  I had the idea of a tree.  I put "digital tree stamp" into google search and it sent me to MS Mygrafico and a free stamp called "Lonely Tree" http://www.mygrafico.com/freebies/free-lonely-tree-digital-stamp/prod_2630.html  I colored a little rainbow of hope in the corner of the tree to remind that love surrounds us all even in the darkest saddest times of our lives.

The sentiment says "Death leaves heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal."  I also put a little angel wing charm on the side.
The paper is a prize that I won from my good friend Lisa at http://indymermaid.blogspot.com/.  Thank you Lisa!  Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me today.  Hope you have a good day!

Hugs!

Relay For Life Card News and A Card

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I am posting so late.  I have been having a little trouble with Meniere's Disease today.  Hope it doesn't last for long.  Here is a card I colored last week and put together this morning.  The Digital Stamp was free from off the web and now I can't remember where I found it, sorry.

Paper Playtime is having a contest called "April Showers" where they want you to use an umbrella, I thought this would be perfect for this contest.

Ok, now to talk about the Relay for Life Card Challenge.  I know that you are all anxiously awaiting to hear who won the prize.  BUT I want to wait (to be fair to everyone) to make sure that all of the cards have arrived.  I received a ton of cards on Saturday.

But I want to make sure that all of the cards postmarked by April 6th have arrived.  So I think I will probably announce the winner on Friday?

Ok, here is some big exciting news!  The gals that I do my scrapbooking with saw all of your beautiful cards and they were just overwhelmed!  I am very happy to say that I sold quite a few of your cards to them.  They aren't card makers, they only do scrapbook pages.  Anyway, they got together and donated a NEW PRIZE for me to give to another lucky winner.  So I am going to have a Relay for Life Card contest 2 but everyone that entered the first contest will be eligible to win this prize.

Yes, that is Cricut Best Images of 2010.  Thank you so much to my croppin' buddies for donating this wonderful prize!  Good luck to all of my wonderful friends who have stepped up and donated your cards to this wonderful charity.  At last count we had 123 cards!

Today, people all over the world will "light it up blue" to shine a light on Autism.   Today I am thinking about several of my girlfriends who have children with Autism, they are my heroes.

Here is my card:

The sentiment reads ~ " We know God wants His best for us, we just don't know how difficult His best will be".

I always have to give away a little candy for my blog hops, so here is some for you.

To win this candy, please become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment telling me that you are a follower. If you are already a follower, just leave me a message saying hi.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday, April 3rd.

Ok, your next stop on the blog hop is the super talented Colleen Creations by Colleen
Hugs!
