Birthday Card for my Brother/Blog Hop Reminder

Hello My Friends!

I am so happy to be back!  What a wild and crazy labor day we had!  We were sitting in front of the TV watching a Netflix movie and a cloud to ground bolt of lightening hit right next to our house!  It sounded like we had been hit by a bomb!  Some of our appliances were already unplugged, the microwave, coffee maker things like that.  Living so close to the Chesapeake Bay, we have just gotten used to doing that.  My computer, Cricuts and...yes..my new beautiful Cameo Silhouette were turned off and also connected to a surge protector that worked....so thankful for that.  We lost the TV in the bedroom, the TV & Home Entertainment System downstairs in our rec room, the Comcast modem and Comcast box and some of our phones.  It is funny how when things like this happen now, my husband and I just keep on keeping on...ever since he had his diagnosis of heart disease, the destruction of material things mean nothing to us.  As long as we still have each other, we are okay.  In the past 1 1/2 years we have lived through an earthquake, the flooding of our entire basement with septic from hurricane Irene and now this.  We don't even get upset anymore.  We just sigh and fix whatever needs fixing and wait for the next disaster!

Oh this has gotten long!  Here is my card for my brother Marty's birthday!  Yes, I do have some brothers sprinkled in there among the sisters!  Marty is one year and five days older than me.  If you recall, my sister Cathy (birthday a couple weeks ago) is eleven months younger than me.  Mom was really on a baby making roll!

I really like the way this one turned out.  I might have been channeling a little Indy Mermaid here.  Just a little...I sometimes think my cards turn out better when I am making them for someone I love.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Sorry if my rambling got a little long.  I can't wait to see everyone at my birthday blog hop on Monday!

  11. I really like this card for your brother, Chriss. Nice job! Gee that's really too bad about your TVs and cable. I've had a few TVs fried like that. Have learned to unplug from the outlet now when a storm is coming, even with a surge protector.
