Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Good Morning,

How is everyone doing?  I am struggling.  Here in Maryland we have 580 people with COVID-19, 157 of them were diagnosed yesterday!  We have had 4 deaths.  I suddenly can't sleep.  I usually go to bed, read a couple chapters of a book and then fall right to sleep.  Now I lay awake for hours.  One night, I finally slept at 5:30 am and last night, it was around 2:30.  I can't shut my brain off.  Every time I think about all of the people that are dying in hospitals around the world and that they are dying all alone with no one by their sides, it just makes me cry.  I tell myself to pray and put it in God's hands but I still can't sleep.

Well, on that cheerful note....I will show you the card I made.  Do kids still fly kites?  I was thinking that could be a lovely way to pass some time, you can keep your social distance and still have fun.  We used to make our kites when I was a child out of newspaper and string or we would buy one for 10 cents.

This is a scene I made using several digital stamps that I got for free for being a Patreon of Mo's Digital Pencil.  If you would like to check it out, go  HERE it is well worth the money you get lots of freebies and a monthly coupon code for her stamps.  Mo is one of my favorite artist, so it made sense for me to join.

Here is the inside of the stamp.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Mo's Digital Pencil - #289 Let's Do Green (with a Mo image)
DLART March 2020 linky - ATG

Please remember that I am here for you.  If you would like to chat, go to my facebook page and send me a message.  Keep safe my friends.

Hugs,

  2. Love your card Chriss. I don't know if kids fly kites anymore or not but they should. Fun times - and like you we made them out of newspaper and whatever we could find. Loved it when we'd get an old sheet or rags from out parents to make the tail with! Lots of good memories there.
I know what you're saying about the virus and all that. I've finally had to quit watching the news so much. It's all very scary and sometimes I'm not the younger generation realizes that. All we can do is hope it doesn't last much longer or they can find a cure.

  3. My sleep patterns have changed too. Can get to sleep no problem but then I keep waking up every couple of hours and find myself mulling over problems before dropping off again. Very strange and worrying times we are experiencing. We certainly played kites with our children . Hubbies Dad found the one he played with in his shed and though the kite was in shreds we re used the string the the holder and in fact both are in our garage now. Keep safe and well. Hugs Mrs A.

  5. Your card is lovely Chriss.. The scene is perfect for Spring! I'm sorry to hear you're not getting any sleep... This is a difficult time for all, but you getting sleep is super important... The lack of sleep can compromise your immune system and I certainly don't want you getting sick - Try and tune out the news (I know it's hard) but you need to for your own health - Maybe do a puzzle instead, or anything to get your mind off the stress of all of this - Sending Hugs your way!
