Old Mr. Scarecrow & A Fun Prize

Hello My Friends,

Today is an extra happy day for me because I was so excited to be asked to be a guest designer for Die Cutting Divas.  The theme is "Fall Colors"  I decided to make this scarecrow from SVG Cuts Leaves are Falling Kit.

Isn't he a fine looking fellow?  He is basically all boxes.  His hat is a box, his head is a box, his arms are boxes, his body is a box and his legs are boxes.  SVG Cuts has wonderful videos that show you how to put together their products.  I love them.  But I do have a few tips of my own.  First, when I am using paper that doesn't have a design, I always use Bazzill textured paper; it has a right side and a wrong side.  This makes it easier to identify the right side of the pattern.  In the video you see these gals putting these projects together really fast; they do this for editing,  The glueing process takes time.  Slow down, take time for each piece to dry before you move on to the next piece.

Recipe for Old Mr. Scarecrow
SVG Cuts - Leaves Are Falling Kit
Paper - Bazzill textured paper for legs, head & straw
Hat  & leg band Graphic 45 Enchanted Garden (Happy Haunting)
Plaid Shirt  Basic Grey
Happy Fall Banner Paper - Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells & K& Company Autumn
Leaf Brads - Stash
Heart Button & buttons -stash
Glue - Zip Dry

Now for a quick prize.  Today is my 36th Wedding Anniversary to the most wonderful guy in the world.  As you read this, I am sitting on a beach somewhere sipping Mai-Tai's.  So to celebrate, lets have a very quick (fit in an envelope) giveaway.    The rules are as alway 1.  You must be a follower of my blog to win.  2.  Leave a comment below.  3.  It would be really nice if you would go to http://diecuttindivas.blogspot.com/ and leave me a comment there too.

I found this unopened bag when I was cleaning my craft room.  It has some really cute fall flowers, and brads in it.  So we will let Mr. Random.org pick a winner from the comments below and I will choose a winner on September 29th when I return from my honeymoon trip.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Hugs,

  26. I love your Haooy Scarecrow chriss and am amazed to realise that he is made up of all those handmade boxes. I notice how you make so many of your special creation for other people but I think you need to be the one to have the pleasure of all your talent and keep Mr scarecrow for yourself. I'll look out for him spreading his happiness through your craft room when you show us the after effects of a couple of projects on your now tidy craft room. Love Ingrid xx
