A Happy Birthday To My Daughter!

Good Morning,

32 years ago today my sweet daughter Kelly was born!  Wow!  I can not believe that 32 years have gone by, it went so fast!  Momma's if you have a little one, hold them close and give them a hug, they will be grown and gone before you know it.  I remember when Kelly was little, older people would say that to me, what they didn't tell me was that no matter how old she gets, she is always my baby girl.  She lives in my heart forever.  Here is the card I made her.  When I first started to plan the card I was going to make it all sparkly and glittery with stickels, but I liked the coloring so much, I decided not to do it.

I used three Fresh Brewed Design Digital Stamps the background is called "Peace Be Still" and the Mermaid is called " Cordelia Waits".  The sentiment is called "have a fintastic day"  I really enjoyed layering in the colors of the sun, sand & water and of course coloring Cordelia.  I wanted to do a very summery card for my daughter and I thought this was perfect.

About a week before Kelly was born, we were driving home from my mom-in-law's and we saw a meteor shower.  Hundreds of shooting stars!  We wished on every one of those stars that Kelly would be born healthy.  So inside the card I wrote "Kelly we wished on a shooting star and you came true".

By the way, there is a blog hop going on over at Fresh Brewed Designs, if you would like to read more about it click Here

July 16th has always been one of the happiest days of the year for me.  I hope you are having a wonderful day too!  Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate all of your comments!

Hugs,

  1. Very special card. My daughter wanted to be a mermaid when she was younger...she ate fishsticks everyday hoping she would turn into one. Memories! Happy Birthday to your daughter.

  3. So beautiful and special indeed. I watch my kids grow every day knowing how dear and special and limited my time with them at this stage of life is. They will soon be teenagers, then moving on to the next stage in their lives.. all the while I will keep missing them being little and loving them and treasuring the moments I have.

Thank you for sharing this post. loved the part about the shooting stars. made me get all teary eyed! The card is GORGEOUS! Love the coloring and shading. Very soft and serene and beautiful. I am sure Kelly will treasure it as it came straight from your heart!

Thank you for joining our challenge this week at Freshly Brewed Challenges. Also enter it into our month long summer time theme challenge!

    Big hugs!

  7. Like the card & your sharing of the story about your daughter. I can hardly believe my daughter will be 21 the end of this yr. When I was in O'ahu Hawaii in Mar this yr I enjoyed seeing & photographing the area where the Mermaid scene was filmed for the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
