INAS #76 A Favorite Song

Good Morning,

We have a new challenge over at International Art & Soul, Challenge #76 "A Favorite Song".  One of my very favorite songs is "You Are My Sunshine" because my husband sings it to me all the time.  He walks around the house singing it and when he does, I know he is a happy man.

You Are My Sunshine

I had a huge struggle with this card!  I knew what I wanted to make and I bought the stuff to make it weeks ago.  I got the Simon Says Stamps Solar Burst and the die "You Are My Sunshine" also from Simon Says Stamps.

I don't use stencils a lot.  I was going to use my Tim Holtz Distress Inks but I discovered I didn't have the right colors.  So I pulled out my Gelatoes!  Remember Gelatoes?  They were popular for about 10 seconds and of course I bought them.  At first I tried just taping the stencil down and coloring it with gelatoes but it didn't look good.  Then I had the brilliant idea of running the stencil through my embosser, that made all the difference, I was able to get the colors to stand out.

Here is the inside of the card:

I think I may give this card to my hubby for Valentine's day.

Recipe for this card:
