Birthday Box Card for a Sweet Friend

Hello Friends and Welcome Visitors,

I am just crazy about box cards lately.  They are very "work intensive" but so much fun to make.  Today I would like to show you a card that I made for a dear friend for her birthday.

Do you see the little red watering can behind the flowers?  It is hiding in there!

Here is a view from the top.

Recipe for this card:

SVGCuts - Country Market SVG Kit
Paper- Rooster Paper - We R Memory Country Livin'
Echo Park Dots & Stripes and Bazzill.
Chalking  - Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk
Sentiments from stash
brads from stash

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Clear It Out Challenge - Stash - Paper Pattern over a year old - Rooster Paper
Fantastic Tuesday - Challenge #128 Anything Goes - Twist - Spring is in the Air

I have some news....we adopted a new puppy!  His foster family named him Rapscallion but we changed his name to Duncan!  He is a sweet handful!  He is 15 weeks old, NOT potty trained or crate trained...oh what did I get myself into?  You know I will complain but secretly I am loving every minute!  Notice he looks a lot like our beloved Lou?  He is a boxer/plott hound mix just like Louie.

We did not plan to adopt so soon, but this little guy has had such a hard time in his short little life, we had to rescue him.  I think I will grieve for Louie the rest of my life; I also know that giving Duncan the same fun life that Louie had will ease the pain in our hearts.  I am sure you will hear all about him as he grows!

Hugs,

  2. That is one awesome flower box card....love the choice of colors for your flowers... and how cute and adorable is Duncan... He sure looks like a baby replica of Louie.... I'm sure Louie will not mind at all that he will be replaced as long as he knows he was number one in your life. Aw can't wait to see him out at sea on the boat with his cap and gear just like how Louie was dressed up. I'm so happy that he makes you all happy and knowing he will be loved dearly as part of the family..... Woof woof Duncan~

  3. Your card is beautiful Chriss - and yes, it does look time consuming. All that time paid off well though since it's so pretty. Awesome!

Duncan is precious! I don't think any of our animals we've lost can ever be replaced or forgotten, but there's so many more out there that need our help and love. Duncan couldn't have asked for a better family and will bring you years of enjoyment.

  4. Ooohhh.... Love your box card, and the red watering can is adorable, but love much more Duncan... :D His eyes are so sweet and serious!! You have made a great choose to give him a family and a home full of love!! Bravo! :D I'm sure that Louie look at you from the Rainbow Bridge and smiles for Duncan... :)
I have read on the Asha's blog two wonderful quotes on her passed furry babies, these say:
"...what we have enjoyed we can never lose... all we love becomes a part of us" - Helen Keller
    and
"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart I'll stay there forever." AA Milne (Winnie the Pooh)

    Lot of hugs!
