Do You Like This Card?

Hello My Friends,

Have you ever made a card and then looked at it and found it all wrong?  That is the problem I am having today.  I will tell you what I think went wrong and I would like to hear from you on what else I could do to improve this card.  The image is a stamp.  I won it from Simply Betty Stamps last fall.  I think it is an adorable image.  I also think I should have colored it with darker colors perhaps?  I also had to use my largest Spellbinder to cut it out, so I did not have a larger piece to frame the white image.  The leaf card is from Cameo Silhouette.  I have to say the leaf is very beautiful and intricate, maybe not right for this image?

Once I saw how this card was going, I just kinda stuck some ribbon down there to break up the pattern.  I would appreciate your honest feedback...help!

Hugs,

  1. I think it is a sweet card. How about if you had distressed around the stamped image? Try not to over-think it, sometimes the only way to get over a card you are unsure about is to make another!!

  2. I agree with Jackie. I would ink distress the edge of the white cardstock. I like the Leaf. I was altering the Christmas Wishes card I posted today by using a Sew Easy on the brown cardstock base but did not like the holes so I cut another base and added another layer of a lighter brown. Left the posted image the original way though.

  3. Lots of great features, but I would have put a piece of cardstock behind the white so you couldn't see the lines thru the paper.

  4. Love the leaf card cut!! I think the image is a little light...I probably would have wanted to frame it too. Maybe a chocolate ribbon and matching card stock to mat your image. Lee-Ann :)

  5. I think it's gorgeous, Chriss!! I do agree with Georgiana on adding cardstock behind the image so the stripes don't show through...otherwise, it's fabulous!! I love the embossed leaf, and I think it's a unique feature!! Have a wonderful evening my friend!! Hugs :)

  6. Love the leaf on this! The image is fun I also think a little distressing along the edges would go along way. But it looks like a fun card, I don't think I would change it! Carri~Abusybee

  7. Very cute! What a fun image...I always think about jumping into leaves like that...but we don't have enough leaves;) I think this is a unique card and with a little paper behind the image to make it pop out it would really add a lot...sometimes it's just that one thing that finishes the card, ya know?! 8. Hi Chriss:) Wonderful card and fun image, you added lots of great details and the ribbon below looks great, a card stock behind the white or added some distress around it to make it pop. Don't worry to much about it but if it really bugs you a simple change would do:) TFS and have a great evening!!
