A Winner And A New Chance To Win!

Hello Ladies,

By the time you read this I will be on my way to Philadelphia for the Copic Intermediate Class!  I am so excited!  I have been looking forward to this for months!

We have a winner for the Just Some Lines "Too Cute To Spook" Design Team Welcome.  Mr. Random.org chose Cissy!  Congrats Cissy!  Send me your address at america57@comcast.net and I will send you your prize!

Now I have a new prize to offer you my faithful followers.  I love, love, love fall.  I love Halloween and I really love Thanksgiving.  I started to notice that all of the on-line stores are skipping right over Thanksgiving and going straight to Christmas.  This really bothers me.  Sitting down with your family to a beautiful meal and just being grateful is so important.  In the 35 years that I have been married, we have had years where we had nothing and didn't know how we were going to buy our kids Christmas presents and years we had more than we could ever want.  But we always sat down and had that moment where we stopped, looked around at each other and felt the pure gratitude of being with each other for another year.  Some years, like this year, a family member will have passed on, we ask that family member to join us at our table.

So I put together my own Thanksgiving Kit for one of my followers to win.

Sorry, it looks kinda strange stuffed into my photo box.

6x6 Country Pumpkin Chowder Mini Pad by Jillibean Soup
Soup Labels - Fall Sentiments
Country Pumpkin Chowder - Pea Pod Parts
Country Pumpkin Chowder - Cardstock Stickers (alpaha's & sentiments)
6 Thanksgiving Themed Papers by Karen Foster Designs

What do you need to do to win?

1.  You must be a follower of my blog
2.  Please post this candy to your sidebar
3.  Leave me a comment telling me about your Thanksgiving.  Do you like it?  Too much work?  If you live in a Foreign Country, do you have another Holiday that is like Thanksgiving?

Mr. Random.org will draw a winner on Saturday, November 17, 2012.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Hugs,

  2. We just had our Thanksgiving last weekend. Usually its a big deal and we shuffle around to different families, but this year was a very quiet year. My hubby had to work, and my parents were visiting my sister out of town, and my inlaws made other plans. But my kids were home with me and I was Thankful for that:)

  11. Am already a follower. Thanks for the chance at this giveaway. I fully agree with you about Thanksgiving. There is not enough focus on such a special family time. Our family has also been on both sides, where we barely had and where we had in abundance. I always made sure that we followed a tradition for every person to say one thing they were grateful for. For us its more about uniting the family,

  13. I'm a follower/fan of your blog :) and I tried to make a button with your picture and blog for this awesome giveaway but it wasn't working so I added your blog url & pic. of your giveaway to my sidebar. :/ oh well. I love thanksgiving now that i'm married and have children it used to be that we'd drive an hour to grandma's house and meet with all the family; eating all day playing games & as a special drink have a virgin shrimp bloody marry. Very good & very spicy! when my family moved to CT we didn't really do anything but act like it was a sunday (we had family dinner on sundays) except there was pie. But now that i'm married we go to my husbands mom's place in Wyoming (2 hrs away) and we stay the weekend. we hang out and play games as a family, enjoy the cold windy days until thanksgiving and then the day of we all gather to the kitchen, cook all day (sometimes for a few days) and drive over to my SIL's house (it's bigger than grandma's) and all eat & play more games. After we eat we gather to talk in the living room or play games in various areas of the house and the grandkids (& my hubby & I) make Gingerbread houses to kick off the christmas festivities... one year they made gingerbread turkeys... but the houses got the best vote so we went back to houses. Then we all compare and judge who's house is best (usually my hubby wins... His houses look amazing... and i'm the artist of the family!). apparently my hubby is the architect of the family. Two years ago, when I had my baby, we gathered at my sister's house and ate a small thanksgiving dinner (since a 2 hr. drive was out of the question for me)... still tons of fun & that day Allison's belly button stub fell off in the middle of dinner while I was feeding her & ironically my sisters BIL was there and asking about the baby's belly button... I showed him and he said, "Sick!" and promptly pushed his plate away. we all still laugh about it.

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving, is hanging out with my mom and sisters, and the Bitties (what we call the nieces and nephews), I am not a fan of Thanksgiving, but my mom is, and so i do it for her. I do however love the cranberries and Mashed Potatoes...

  17. I am already a follower. I love Thanksgiving. I love the food & I love being able to be around family. In the hustle and bustle of this world we all get so busy running around as fast as we can trying to put too much into our days. Thanksgiving is a day that we can fix great food and then sit down with our families and enjoy the food. Most of us enjoy sports as well so we will enjoy watching the Cowboys whether they win or lose on Thanksgiving day as well. It is a lovely day as long as we are together. Thanks Chriss.

Thanks for the opportunity to win your Thanksgiving blog candy - have a great trip and enjoy your crafting ride! ~ Gail ~

When I was growing up, we would wake up to the smell of turkey and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. My father would cook that day...and I miss him so much! I love to go all out with decorations and classy things for the day. We are a large family and it is a beautiful event. I love it!
