Coupon Code/Try Something New Thursday

Welcome to Try Something New Thursday!  Today, I am trying a lunch-bag album kit from my friend Emily's Etsy store (http://www.createserendipity.blogspot.com/) to get to her etsy store click on the left side of her blog or go to createserendipity07 on Etsy.
Here is what the kit looks like when it arrives ~

To make the album you will need

Here are the pages I finished.  I had So much fun making these pages but sadly for me, I am caring for my four year old nex-door neighbor so I did not get as many pages done as I would have like.  But I really enjoyed making these pocket pages and when I am finished I will have a lovely gift to give the next niece that gets married.

Here is my big news!  Emily is offering my followers a code for 15% off of their order!  Woo hoo!  Just put in the code BLOGHOP when you check out to get 15% off!  Here is even bigger news!  If you buy 3 kits, you get a 4th one for free!  I already have my eye on the school kit, I think it would be so cool to have the bag pocket for report cards and things like that so they won't get lost.  Emily made me a beach album and I keep my beach passes in the one of the bag pockets so we won't lose them.  The great thing with Emily is that if you see something you like on her site and it gets sold, she can make you one just like it, just click on special orders.

I made a tag for one of the pockets, I would like to make more tags when I have time.

On this page I attached some black & white photo corners that can be used on pictures and stamped a bird, Emily, I love these georgeous black velvet flowers you sent in the kit, so beautiful!

These are the pages I tried to do while babysitting a 4 year old.  Emily, I used my own piece of paper for the circle, I thought it was white, but I can see it doesn't go.  I will get a piece of silver paper to replace it.

So that was my adventure in babysitting and trying to make a lunch bag album at the same time.  I am so impressed with you mothers that scrapbook, I don't know how you do it!
I was talking to Emily about selling some plain (sewn together) paper albums that we could buy and decorate with our own papers and embellishments.  I don't own a sewing machine and I don't have the space for one.  If this is something you would be interested please comment here, or on Emily's blog.  Thank you for visiting my blog, I know this was a long one, hope you have a great Thursday!

  1. Hi Chriss,

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I didn't have an email to reply back to answer your question so I hope you don't mind if I leave it here.

You asked about binding my reading log bookmarks with a brad (as apposed to the bind-it-all I used). I'd say you might have better luck with binder rings. My kids made a bookmark for the school year and it holds 16 pages of cardstock (plus the thickness of the printed reading logs). Please let me know if you have any problems or any more questions!

  3. Great mini! I love making these and giving them away as gifts. It is a great way to use up scraps and supplies that I hoard!
