Decorate To Celebrate #79 Outdoor BBQ Party or Birthday

I am giving away a prize. To read about it click http://www.chrissandlou.blogspot.com/2014/06/prize-giveaway.html

Good Morning My Friends,

Welcome to a new challenge at Decorate To Celebrate!  Challenge #79 is Outdoor BBQ Party Decorations or Birthday Party Decorations.  Here on the Chesapeake Bay; our BBQ's usually include lots of steamed crabs so I made these little utensil holders.

I cut white sandwich bags with my zig-zag sissors, added a colorful napkin, knife, fork & spoon and stapled packets of salt & pepper to the front.  Then just for added decoration; I cut out crabs stickers on my Cameo Silhouette and added them to the front.

I made a dispenser full of delicious Sangria to make the BBQ even more fun.  Here is the recipe.  I doubled it because of the number of people we had coming.  Don't forget you have to let it sit overnight.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)
  • 1 Lemon cut into wedges
  • 1 Orange cut into wedges
  • 1 Lime cut into wedges
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Splash of orange juice or lemonade
  • 2 Shots of gin or triple sec (optional)
  • 1 Cup of raspberries or strawberries (may use thawed or frozen)
  • 1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice)
  • 4 Cups ginger ale

Preparation:

Pour wine into a large pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and pineapple then add sugar, orange juice and gin. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale, berries and ice just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. However, remember that the best Sangrias are chilled around 24 hours in the frig. - allowing the flavors to really marinate into each other.

Thanks so much for stopping by today my friends! I hope you will stop by Decorate to Celebrate to see what the rest of the design team has created and then come play along with us!
