Good Morning!
Yesterday, I received a wonderful birthday surprise in the mailbox from my friend Heather Lynn. Thank you so much Heather Lynn! You made my day!
Heather Lynn, your card is just gorgeous! I love the "cup cake icing" and the little gifts are wonderful! I am button & twine crazy and I will think of you when I use them!
I have had several people say to me, "oh yuck Chriss, you are turning 55 why are you celebrating as if you were turning 21? Well, I will tell you why. My mom passed away when I was 16 and she was 53. Then my dearly loved older sister passed away when she was 52. I never thought I would live long past my fifties and I was prepared (I thought) for that. Then we found out that my mom and sister (and some of my other brothers and sisters) have something called Factor V Gene Mutation. I don't have it. I have probably inherited the old people genes and unless I get hit by a bus tomorrow, I could live to be well into my 90's. So in some ways, I do feel like I am turning 21 and I am celebrating! A chance to start over, a chance to be free of the things in my life that have held me down. A chance to walk away from any negative people who stifle my creativity or don't want to get to know who I really am. I feel free! I feel like I this is just the start of a new beginning. I have turned the page and a new chapter of my life is beginning. Please come celebrate with me tomorrow!
