Star Spangeled Happiness!

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July!

Today we remember the day we won our Independance but we also remember all of those who have fought and died to keep us free.  I have a special place in my heart for some of my relatives who fit in that catagory.  I hope that you all are celebrating and enjoying yourselves today and staying coool...I put an extra o in there cause it is so hoooot outside!

So here is my card for today.  She is called Gracie Fireworks by Fresh Brewed Designs.

The sentiment "Star Spangled Happiness" is from K. Andrew "Sweet July".
Now, I am going to tell you the REAL story about this digital stamp.  See, I believe very strongly that Heather who creates these stamps is my "heart sister" sometimes I look at her stamps and I think she made them just for me.  This is one of those stamps....here is the true story of this stamp.  Once Upon A Time, long, long...oh about 30 years ago, there was a little girl named Kelly Anne.  She was 2 years old and this was the first July 4th she could remember.  She had a new baby brother.  She liked the baby brother when she was alone with just him and mama (even though the baby took up an awful lot of mama's time) but she didn't know how much she liked everyone at the 4th of July picnic cooing over the new baby and not paying any attention to how absolutely adorable she looked in her brand new red, white & blue 4th of July outfit!  After awhile she got so tired she fell asleep.  Then daddy was shaking her awake and telling her to look up in the sky the fireworks had begun!  Ohhhhhh...Kelly Anne rubbed her eyes, she could not believe what she was seeing!  Beautiful flowers in the sky!  "Look Mama! She said "Beautiful flowers in the sky" suddenly all her grown-ups were laughing and hugging her!  Oh Kelly, you are so smart, oh what an adorable thing to say!  No one was paying attention to the baby!  It was star spangled happiness just for her!

Happy 4th of July!

Hugs,

    1. Thank you Kay! I really enjoy coloring. I know that people that crochet & knit say that it relaxes them, I think I get the same result from my copic markers.

      Hugs,
      Chriss

  5. Great card Chriss...I love Heather's images too! In Jan. I hinted to her that I couldn't find a female hockey player anywhere....guess what she emailed me the next day!!! My granddaughters loved having a scrapbook page made of them with their team colors & #'s on the jerseys.
