I just loved coloring it! So fun! I used K. Andrews Stamps Sentiment Pirate Tales and Fish Scales...I LOVE these stamps! I know I will be using them so much as summer comes and we get out on our boat! And I just learned how to make a Wavy Sentiment Banner. Would you like to learn? A Daisy Girl Scout Card

Good Morning Ladies,

I wanted to make a Thank You card to send to my little niece Olivia for the Girl Scout cookies she gave me. I got out my handy dandy Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls but after looking around on that one, I ended up using the Cowgirl Vest on the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. I cut it out in white and colored it with my copic markers and added the very poorly drawn daisy...sigh...

For the Sentiment I used K. Andrews "It's Valentine's" stamp set that I won from my gal pal Kristan http://sierrababy08.blogspot.com/ I think my little Livvy will just enjoy getting mail!

For those of you that read my last post, you know that I am volunteering for a group called Relay For Life and that I am asking everyone to send me their handmade cards to sell to raise money for this group. If you would like to know more about Relay for Life, please go HERE or read my last blog. Your card doesn't have to be about cancer, it can be for any Holiday or Celebration. One person that sends me a card will win this:

It is a tape glider and a stand that my husband made for it. The stand will come unpainted so that you can paint it a color that you like to go with your scrapbook room. Now, at first I said that because it will be such a heavy package that I could only offer this prize to my U.S.A. and Canadian Followers and that is true. I am volunteering for Relay for Life, a group that raises money for Cancer Awareness and Research. On June 15th, we will have our big gathering with a booth were we can sell things. I would like to sell handmade cards. I have decided to ask all of you to send me cards and I will have a drawing to win this great prize.

It is an Advanced Tape Glider on a holder that my husband made for it. The holder will come unpainted so that you can paint it to match your scrapbook room. Because this prize is so heavy, I can only accept submissions from the U.S. and Canada. I am so sorry to all my friends all over the world. You can still donate your card if you would like.

Thank you in advance for all of your help. Ok, this is the part you can read or skip over if you aren't interested. If you are a smoker and you would like to quit, I wish you would read this. So often when I meet a smoker they say to me "Well, I am going to die anyway" but sadly for me, I have watched two people die from smoking and it is a horrible drawn out death. It is a death that can last years. Just recently, my own father passed away at the age of 91 in his own house, in his own bed from old age. His death was so peaceful! He had his children around him when he passed. I still remember as a little girl blowing out his match when he lit his cigarette. The very day the Surgeon General announced that "smoking was bad for your health" my dad quit...just like that, he never picked up a cigarette again. He said "I have 14 children, I can't get cancer" so I guess my dad was maybe 44 years old when he stopped smoking.

Now we come to my in-laws. My dear mother-in-law and father-in-law, they never got the message, they never stopped smoking. My mother-in-law told me that one time she went to the doctor and came home and told her husband she wanted to quit, and he said he didn't believe any of that nonsense about smoking that if she quite, he wasn't going to do it so the kept on smoking. Then my mother-in-law was diagnosed with COPD and she finally and to quit. My father-in-law continued to smoke even though his wife had just been given a death sentence. Then my father-in-law got esophageal cancer. He had to have his voice box removed. Even though they implanted a new voice box, he never learned to use it. Because my mother-in-law was so sick and all of the children worked, my father-in-law went to live in a nursing home at the age of 66. He died by the age of 68. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law had a blockage in her intestines and had to have surgery. She was given a "temporary" colostomy bag, but because of her weak lungs, they were never able to give her the surgery she needed to remove the colostomy bag, so she had that the rest of her life. She was then diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through chemo & radiation and her children & grandchildren went through it with her. She died at the age of 70. This didn't have to be! My mother-in-laws own mother and aunts lived into their 90's! If she had just put down the cigarettes, she would still be here with us today! When I think of all the things my in-laws have missed. Their first granddaughters wedding, all of the great grand babies that have been born since they passed, it makes me so sad. They say life is short, why make it any shorter than it has to be? Stay on earth awhile, it can be an adventure.

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. As some of you know, I am married to a traveling salesman and I love to hide little notes and cards in his luggage. Now after 34 (almost 35) years of marriage, if I don't put at least one note or card in his luggage he calls me and ask me if I'm mad at him! I always laugh when it is just an overnight trip...come on! It is very hard to find "Miss You" stamps, so you can imagine my delight when my buddy Wendy at Digital Delights came out with a whole new stamp set of DOGS (my favorite) and Miss You Sentiments to go with! Of course I bought them immediately! Here is the first card I made. Now, is it just me, or does this little fellow look like he needs to...um...go?

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I have been missing, I have had a severe cold...yuck! I guess this is the time of year when all of the cooties are floating around in the air, it seems like everyone is sick. I wanted to show you this very cool Tape Glider Holder that my husband made me.

I am trying to decide if I should paint it all pink or pink & green or maybe pink & black to go with my scrapbook room (you can click on my craft room button above to see what my craft room looks like) What color would you paint it if you won it? What color do you think I should paint mine?

Ah Valentines Day! That made up Holiday where everyone is forced to be in love and if you don't have someone to love, maybe your mom will send you some candy! I have been married for 34 years and though I am deeply, passionaltly in love with my husband on most days...Valentines Day...not so much! I don't like to be told what to do or when to do it. What can I say. So here is a Valentine that I made for a very cute couple that have only been together for a short while.

I saw this on my Cricut Imagine "Enjoy the Seasons", it made me laugh so I had to use it! The Sentiment is from the K. Andrews Valentine Stamps that I won from Kristian Anderson http://sierrababy08.blogspot.com/ thank you again Kristian! I also used a new toy that I received for Christmas a Sew Ribbon Weave from Sew Easy We R Memory Keepers. I think it turned out all right and it was fun to use.

Dear Blog Friends,

I am very sad to tell you that my dad, Papa Joe America passed away this morning in his sleep. He was 91 years old (almost 92). He died in his own home, in his own bed with his children near-by. I arrived about 10 minutes after he passed away and to me he looked like he was at peace.

I was so excited when I saw that this was my card! I have loved this card ever since Debby D. first posted it to Let's Scrap and how often do we get to use eyelets anymore? I remember when I first started going to crops, I would hear all of this banging of people tapping their eyelets into place and then they came up with the Big Bite and it got quiet again.

Here is my example

Well, I tried to make a heart...hum...maybe you can do a better job? So I used Cricut Sweethearts Cartridge Page 72 to cut the heart (it cut the holes that I put the purple twine through) I then tried to draw a heart with my pencil on the back of the heart and place the eyelets in a heart shape and then run the red & white twine through.

As one of the 50 international host blogs, I am gearing up now for the upcoming Let's Scrap (http://letsscrap.ning.com/) "Leap Around the World" February blog hop!! Good Morning!

I had a lot of fun playing with some (almost free) Digital Stamps from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I started with the Tree of Love (35 cents) and inserted it into a word document. Then, I took the sentiment Forever Yours (45 cents) and placed it into the same document and hit the wrap button and then placed it on the tree. I then took Luvvy Owl (40 cents) and placed him next to the tree.

The paper, ribbon and brads are all from last years stock so for $1.20 I made this cute little card! And remember you gals that don't color, you can buy these stamps already colored for you! Have a great day!

Good Morning!

I have been having trouble with my lower back, it really hurts! But last night I laid on the sofa and watched a recorded episode of that show "Hoarders, Buried Alive" I then got up and cleaned my house from top to bottom! I just worked through the pain! I don't understand people that hoard (you know I love to give things away) and I don't know exactly how their houses get to be like that, but mine will never be that dirty! I will drag myself off my deathbed and clean! So I am very happy to be writing to you from my clean, fresh house!

Here are some Valentine Toppers from Digital Delights. I got the already colored ones so all I had to do was cut them out.

I also got the matching digital Valentine paper that goes with them. Here are two of the toppers that I made.

Isn't she cute? I just added a sentiment from Digital Delights cut it with my oval nestibility and backed it with a doily.

I LOVE this little lady bug! She is so cute! I cut out the Buggy Over You Sentiment with my round nestibilities and then cut the red background with the next size one. Do you see that the paper has her on there too? Love her!

Hi Gals,

Today I wanted to show you my latest entry into my SMASH book/art journal. I have something called Meniere's disease. It can go into remission for months at a time but for some reason it has been hanging on to me since September and it is really making me miserable. At the same time, I feel stupid complaining about it because there are so many people in the world that are suffering so much more than I am. I know that my family and friends get tried of hearing me talk about it. I have had Meniere's since I was 28 years old, I just hate it. Anyway, I think my journal is a good place to get my feelings out so here it is.

Welcome to my scrapbook room! I guess I will be showing you all of the neat fun things that Santa gave me for Christmas over the next few weeks. This is a gift I absolutely LOVE! It is a light box! It sets up and folds down in minutes, it comes with two lights and I can can take pictures of my cards or layouts in no time at all! I am just thrilled to have it! My husband was going to make me one, he even found the directions on You Tube, but then he found this one on Amazon.com for very little cost, so he bought me one.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

I woke up this morning and my lower back was out! Gone! This rarely happens to me. I did some exercises that my sister (who has a lot of back problems taught me) and it seems to be on the mend.

So, I was in such a panic to get my blog up that I copied and posted the blog from Digital Delights Challenge on to my blog...(see below) wow! Can you believe these talented ladies? The great thing about Digital Delights is that you can order the stamps uncolored and color them yourself, or, if you aren't into coloring, just order the stamp or sentiment already colored and place it on your card or layout and and you have instant Wow!

Here is my card. Her name is Rock Around Sue...isn't that cute?

The challenge was to use the colors black, pink & silver. I used a tent card, here it is from the side.

Happy Birthday Card for my BFF

Good Morning!

It seems that I have been making a lot of birthday cards lately. This one is special, it is for my BFF. Now some of you long time followers know this, but those of you that are new to my blog may not know that my BFF is five years old! Yes, I am best friends with a five year old. How did this happen? Megan is my next door neighbor, I have known her since she was born. Last year, she started getting the mail from the mailbox. When I saw that, I decided to slip some mail in there for her. What fun is getting the mail when there is never anything for you? So I would give her little cards and notes and sign them "Your Secret Friend". Megan soon figured out that I was the one sending her the cards...I did give her hints (I have blue eyes, red hair and a BIG dog). Whenever Meggie would call me on the phone or knock on my door and I would say "who is it?" she would get confused and instead of saying "It's your secret friend" she would say "it's your best friend" and that is how we ended up being BFF's. Happy Birthday Megan! I hope that everyone that sees a chance to make a difference (however small) in a child's life does so. Give your heart to a child, you will never be sorry!

Once again because I was giving this card to a younger child I went with a simple theme. The digital stamp is

Pixie Dust Paperie Design Team Announcement & Some Candy!

Hello Ladies!

I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen to be a member of the Pixie Dust Paperie Design Team! I have been a huge fan of the Pixie Dust Paperie Kits. I especially love how they come with 4 pieces of coordinating card stock that match all of the embellishments and patterned paper. When you open these kits, all you need is your scissors and glue. Here is my card for today! It is a birthday card for my nephew Blake who turned 3. I used the Digital Delights by Loubie Loo Circus. The clown is named Cannon Ball Buttons and I used the Circus Ticket Sentiment Set. Remember if you don't color digital stamps, you can buy these already colored! Good Morning Ladies!

I wanted to show you this monster Copic bag that my hubby bought me from i-copic.

Isn't it beautiful? It has cups on the inside that hold the markers.

I thought I had a lot of markers (around 120) but look how sad my markers look in here.

This monster holds around 360 marker! So lets see, I have 279 followers...if you each send me a marker....sketch of course, not Caio....oh well, a gal can dream....

A Sweet Thank You Card

We had some work done on our house over the holidays. We got new windows and a new door in our basement. I wanted to make a little thank you card for our neighbor who took the time out of his Holiday celebrations to come install the windows & door for us. Good Morning,

Here is a mini toilet paper roll album kit that I got from my friend Emily Lanham, www.createserendipity07.esty.com This kit was so easy to put together because it came with everything I needed, including instructions! I wanted to make this little stocking stuffer for my daughter who has lost 180 pounds this past year. I thought this album would be great because she can put her "after" pictures on the outside and side her "before" pictures on the inside.

Christmas Fun With My Daughter

Good Morning!

My daughter came over last week and we had so much fun making decorations for her office Christmas Tree and her cubicle with my Cricut Expression. The company she works for answers questions so we made a lot of Q's and A's for her to hang on the tree.

My Daughter, isn't she cute?

Lot's of Q's & A's we used red & green twine for hangers and here is what the tree in her office looked like.

I think it turned out very well!

For her cubicle she cut out Let It Snow from the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge and the snowflakes are from A Child's Year Cartridge. Kelly then brushed on a light coating of stickel and put Tulip Puffy Dimensional Fabric Paint on the bottom of the "Snow"

Here she is dying it with a heater.

Treat Box With Digital Delight Stamp

Good Morning!

Our family had a wonderful Christmas party this weekend. It was at my niece Bonnie's brand new house. I wanted to make her a homemade gift. I LOVE making boxes and I found this really cute treat box in the Cricut Sweet Tooth Cartridge, page 7.

And who is that standing by the door waiting to greet everyone? Ginger Santa from Digital Delights by Louby Loo! I really had fun coloring this digital stamp but remember, if you like the look of digi stamps but don't want to color them, Digital Delights sells them already colored! http://www.digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.com/

This box had windows that were open so I covered the windows with pieces of plastic that I cut out from an old clam shell that I had taken off of something I had bought so that the treats wouldn't fall out.

I just put glue around the window and cut out a piece of plastic to fit and glued it on.

Here is a side view of the box.

I used Martha Stewart's Holiday Punch "Drippy Goo" to make the icicles and then covered them with white stickels.

And here is my beautiful niece Bonnie (baby due in March) enjoying her gift!

Hello Ladies,

Today I made a card for my sister. She is one of the best bakers I have ever known. She is so good, she made my daughter's wedding cake! When I saw this digital stamp on Fresh Brewed Designs, I knew I had to make it for her!

This card was so much fun to color, I not only used copic markers, I used smooch, stickels and Tulip Puffy Paint to make Santa's trim puffy! I love the little apron on the Christmas Tree, so cute!

Isn't it funny how we live in this cyber world of computers now where we feel like we all know each other and we have developed real "true" friendships with our blogs and our groups? A Pink Snowgal

Good Morning,

Today I made a pink snowgal! Freshly Brewed Designs is having a challenge this month to use fabric on our cards and if we want to enter the challenge one of their fabulous stamps. I chose this adorable snowman...uh snowgirl? And the rest of the embellishments on the card came from a kit I won from the Pixie Dust Paperie!

Can you tell I really enjoyed making this card? The coloring was just fun to do, I love the how the ribbon matches the tassels on her scarf and the crochet flower is just so pretty! This is the very first Christmas card I have made...did I just hear all of my cyber friends gasp at once? Yes, I know, I am way behind...I will catch up..I hope! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to my Sister Trudy

Good Monday Morning!

Today is my sister Trudy's birthday! When Trudy was a young mother, she decided to go to dental hygienist school. I guess I was around 13 or 14 years old at the time. Trudy had to bring someone to class to "work on" and she brought me. I had been to the dentist throughout my childhood but I think with there being 14 kids in my family, we kind of overwhelmed the dentist. When I went with Trudy, she taught me how to floss my teeth, I don't ever remember being taught how to do that. Maybe having your big sister teach you how to floss and brush makes more of an impression on a teenage girl. All I know is that I have flossed between my teeth every day since then. When I go to the dentist they are always so impressed with my gums and I get compliments all of the time on my big white smile! So thank you Trudy and Happy Birthday! I wanted to make you a card with a dental hygienist but I couldn't find one, so I made you a tooth fairy instead!

Try Something New Thursday - Wrap It Up!

Hello Ladies,
Sorry I am so late with this post. My camera battery died...sigh...Today I used my brand new Cricut Imagine Cartridge Wrap It Up. When I saw this cart I wanted it because the wooden doll has special meaning to my daughter & I. My in-laws had one at their house when my daughter was a baby. By the time she was 14 months old, she could take the doll apart and put it back together again! Everyone (including me) were totally convinced at that point that she was a genius and we were right! When my daughter got married, she gave me one of those wooden dolls...I cried and cried! So here are my projects! I just LOVE to make boxes...have you noticed?

Good Morning!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend! Last week I was on Facebook (when I should have been working..hum...) and I saw a post from my new friend Heather Dennis from Freshly Brewed Designs http://www.freshbreweddesigns.com/ she said that she was getting ready to draw some new digital stamps. I asked her if she would please draw me a gal sitting at her scrapbook table scrappin' in her pajamas with bunny slippers. (The way I look when I am scrappin') a couple hours later I received a message from Heather with my very own digi! I was over the moon with excitement! I never had anyone draw art for me before! So here is the card I made with her.

I just love all the detail, look at the stash she has on the shelf behind her, the markers, flowers, buttons, glue...so me! Coloring it was so much fun! I am going to color this digi in an 8x10 size and frame it and hang it in my scrapbook room too. Heather said that if I mail it to her, she will autograph it for me..whoo hoo!

Veterans Day

A Winner/Post Card From The Edge...

Good Morning!
Last week City Crafter had a challenge to make a post card http://citycrafter.blogspot.com/ The gals there made some really beautiful ones. I decided that I wanted to make one to go in the front of my smash book. Yes, I am getting a smash book! I have so many scrapbook ideas floating around in my head I can't catch them all! I need someplace to keep them all contained! I even dream about scrappin'! I have card sketches and layouts in my mind all of the time, I jot them down on scrips and scraps of paper and then I lose them! So hopefully with the smash book they can all go in one place and will be right there at my fingertips! Anyway, I made this post card to go on the front page of my book.

I am so excited to be the guest designer on 3 Girl Jam Today! http://www.3girljam.blogspot.com/ I have been a follower of 3 Girl Jam since they first opened their doors. Today I made a Thanksgiving Explosion Box.

Here is a side view using one of 3 Girl Jam's Estate Vintage Buttons and Harvest Bundle Ribbon.

To make the bow, I wound the ribbon loosely around my fingers 4-5 times and then tied it with twine. I attached the tag to the ends of the twine. Then you just have to play with the bow, fluff it until it looks the way you want it to look.

CCR Layout - Button, Glitter & Embossing

Creative Cutter Room's challenge this month was for a Holiday layout using their sketch that included a button, glitter and embossing. Here is my layout.

I chose to do a Thanksgiving layout in advance. I know things will only get busier as the Holidays approach and I love the idea of getting a jump on my scrapooking.

The embellishments that I chose didn't have buttons on them so I added them, I think that worked out quit well.

The turkey is from Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons he actually looks better than in this picture. I printed him out in layers and ran his body through my big shot to embellish him and then added some glitter to make him shine. Hope you all are enjoying your first day of November! Hugs!

Louie's Halloween

I know I always talk about what a wonderful dog Louie is, we call him the "gentle giant" he is 104 pounds of sweetness. Well tonight was no exception and I have the pictures to prove it!

Yes, this is "Louie the Lobster"

He didn't like it but he put up with it but wait, it got worse....

Yes, that is Louie allowing himself to be dressed as a clown by our little next door neighbor and our neighbor across the street. Oh a good time was had by all!

Showing Jovan My Scrapbook Room

Not purple like yours, but a very pale pink with hot pink accents! I really like that storage cube you made with foam board, you are going to have to tell us how you made that. Some of these pictures were taken awhile ago. Anyway here we go.

It is Ikea that I bought off of e-bay. The sentiment over the magnetic bulletin board says "Every Picture Tells A Story"

I have storage underneath too.

Desk is a little messy in this one but you can see the table I made with Jet Max & a piece of counter top my brother-in-law gave me! Hope you enjoyed the tour! Hugs!

A Halloween Angel

I remember one time when my children were small and I was dressing them up for Halloween my son said to me "on this day, you can be anybody you want to be". I think that is why Halloween is so much fun. You get to dress up like someone else...will your friends know who you are? One year, when I was in High School, long, long ago, my friend Su came to school dressed as a clown...full make-up, wig everything and no one recognized her for the whole day! Here is a digi I found on Simply Betty's Stamps of the Angel I wish I could be!

A Small Halloween Cat

When my daughter was about 2 years old and we were totally broke, I needed to come up with a Halloween costume for her, so I put together a kitty cat costume. She loved it! It was just her ballet costume with some ears and a tail. I saw this digi at StampFairy and had to make her a card with it!

Try Something New Thursday/ Big C

I have always wanted to have one of those big monogram letters on my wall, ever since the days of the Mary Tyler Moore show (boy does that age me) so I decided to make one for my scrapbook room. The room is a very, very pale pink with hot pink accents.

Wow, the picture makes it look red, but that really is a hot pink on a pale pink wall, lol! Do you recognize the wand that Lisa from Indy Mermaids sent me for my birthday? Isn't she a perfect decoration for my C? Now I have a question and need some help from you my sweet follower friends...should I do something to the paper part of this decoration to make it last longer? Should I mod-podge it or spray it with a coating of something? Any suggestions? Hugs!
