Owl Project # 1

I am giving away a prize. To read about it click http://www.chrissandlou.blogspot.com/2014/06/prize-giveaway.html

Hello My Friends, Welcome Visitors!

Today is the start of my Owl project week which will end with the reveal of my new owl themed office...wooo hoooo!  Today I would like to show you a framed digital stamp that I made for myself.  I am sorry if the picture is shadowy, it has been raining here all weekend.

This is a digital stamp by Auroa Wings it has special meaning to me because it deals with gossip.  I believe that gossip is the root of all evil.  A few years ago, I was the center of gossip.  My name was on everyone's lips.  I learned three extremely valuable lessons during this very painful time.

1.  I myself was a gossiper.  I never thought about how much it could hurt the person I was talking about.  I would even pass on "second hand" gossip without a thought of whether it was true or not.  Through prayer I came to see how wrong this was and I determined to stop.  I still have my slips; but if someone tells me something in confidence, they know I will never tell anyone else.

2.  You can not fight the gossip; you really can not defend yourself.  This is the hardest lesson to learn.  When people are talking about you; it is best to just keep quiet.  Let them talk.  Your true friends will stand by you and anyone that believe's the gossip wasn't your friend in the first place.  Do your good works, try to keep your head up and your inner light will shine through.

3.  Someone told me once that "If you tell the facts and it is true then it isn't gossip." well, over these past years, I have had the opportunity to talk to men & women of all Religious Faiths.  I have spoken to a Roman Catholic Priest, a Methodist & Baptist Reverend and a Non-Denominational Reverend. They all told me the same thing.  If what you repeat will hurt another person, it is gossip.

Okay, I will come down off my soapbox now!  Anyway, I am trying very hard to See No Evil, Speak No Evil and Hear No Evil.  I also have some little figurines that sit in front of my computer to remind me when I am on facebook.

Wow!  Did you really read all that? If you didn't it's ok, I won't gossip about you, lol!  Okay here is the recipe for my framed digital stamp.

  4. This is so beautiful!! Love those precious owls!! The colors are fabulous!! I agree with your comments on gossip...but it is hard sometimes not to give in. I try not to...8 years of Catholic school teachings and the fear of the nuns scared me straight ;) Have a great evening :)

  14. Chriss, I appreciate this post! So true about gossip. When I am in a room and someone starts to gossip, you should see how fast I get up, just so that I do not hear what that person is about to say....lol. I learned that from my mom. lol. Your owls are ADORABLE!!
    Have a wonderful day,
